For MSC Cruises’ new Miami Terminal, the largest cruise terminal in the world, Swordfish created a monumental 43K virtual aquarium designed to immerse travelers the moment they step inside. Bespoke character animation was crafted up front in Autodesk Maya, with final shading, lighting and world assembly powered through Unreal Engine. This bleeding-edge pipeline enabled unprecedented speed and precision, allowing our team to iterate at scale across a massive architectural canvas. Our volumetric water, dynamic lighting, and lifelike marine ecosystems unfolded in real time, then final 13k segments were rendered in only a few hours on local computers in our studio. Never has software been so appropriately named. It’s truly unreal!
