iBelieveInSwordfish collaborated with Geneva-based MSC Cruises on its flagship, MSC World Europa, delivering more than 46 hours of native 9K content for the ship’s 50-meter LED ceiling set within its striking parametric promenade. The continuous program features photo-real CG sea life and nature sequences during the day and procedural motion design at night, unified by simulated architectural ceilings that open and close on the hour as transitional chapters. Using cloud rendering, we compressed what would have equaled 26 years of render time into just a few weeks and delivered in time for the maiden voyage. As one of the great theme songs once said, “love, exciting and new…” – we figured the visuals should be too.
