MSC World America
Established on the Atlantic coast, Chantiers de l’Atlantique is one of the world leaders on the markets of highly complex ships and offshore installations.
For the third consecutive ship launch, MSC Cruises partnered with Swordfish to create the content for the ship’s LED ceiling. One of the wildest parts of these engagements is the QC process, where we travel to the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire France along the Atlantic Ocean. Boarding the ship is a chaotic experience. With thousands of workers assembling this massive hotel at sea, the energy entering the yard is pure adrenaline. Once on board we have to navigate through the “I-95 Corridor”, the massive hallway running down the entire length of the ship. The bowels of the ship have the same aesthetics as a naval war ship, and the workers all behave like they are in the midst of battle. A random turn leads us to a stairwell. Walking up two flights of narrow steel stairs, we open the door to reveal a 5 star hotel with Sworavski crystal spiral staircases. The juxtaposition is truly a trip. Then we look up to see our massive 50 meter art installation… truly wild!

Nothing better than ending a trip to the shipyard with a pizza and pint in the beautiful town of Nantes.
